Music has always been present in my life. Starting in elementary school I took piano lessons (traditional), violin lessons (Suzuki), and flute lessons (Suzuki) every week until I graduated high school.
After graduating from high school, I decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in Flute Performance from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. I graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Woodwind Department Achievement Medal for musical and academic excellence. I relocated to Maryland in 2004 to pursue graduate studies at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and received a Masters in Music Education in 2007.
I have been an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas for years and have completed the Every Child Can course, Suzuki Flute Method Books 1-5 and Suzuki Piano Method Books 1 and 2.
Besides my studies in music, I obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law as was admitted to the Bar of Maryland in 2015.
I currently teach middle school band in Columbia, MD. In my spare time I enjoy taking care of my pets and traveling to interesting places with my husband.
